Grounds Horticulture/Forestry Lead: Job Skills Training
- Description:
As a new Grounds-Horticulture Forestry Specialist Lead, you will also learn about role-specific skills and tasks. Each year, you will also do refresher training with the Forestry crew, to prep for the upcoming season.
A few examples include:
SPRING
- Bed clean-up
- Bed treatment
SUMMER
- Planting/watering
- Mulching
FALL
- Leaf clean-up
- Hedging
WINTER
- Pruning
- Snow removal
Forestry Lead Workers also
- coordinate, organize, and lead large mulching projects. You will learn more about this project management from your Supervisor.
- work closely with Supervisors, on in-field training, including modeling proper techniques, sharing knowledge, and giving feedback. You can take a Train the Trainer course to enhance your skills to be an effective trainer for your crew.
