FP&M Physical Plant Custodial employees are invited to try on and order a pair of slip-resistant shoes at the upcoming Safety Footwear Fit & Ship events on Dec. 2 and Dec. 3 on the lower level of 45 N. Charter Street. A shoe vendor will be onsite to help you find the right fit. Employees are eligible for one pair of slip-resistant or safety shoes per year at no cost to the employee. If you are not sure about your eligibility, please check with your supervisor.
This voluntary program offers FP&M custodial employees one pair of slip-resistant or safety shoes each year at no cost. These shoes provide better traction on wet or greasy indoor floors and support efforts to reduce slip and fall incidents.
Employees can be fitted and place orders during their regular work hours. All available models meet ASTM F3445-21 standards and cost $125 or less. Shoes must be selected from the onsite vendor, and FP&M covers the full cost. While custodians are not required to choose slip-resistant shoes, those who do are expected to wear them as part of their everyday work clothing.
