FP&M employees shared innovative projects at the annual Showcase event on April 23.  The Showcase 2026 featured poster flash talks, exhibitions and breakout sessions. Showcase is a campuswide forum for share best practices, learn from others at UW–Madison, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. FP&M was well-represented:

Jeff Templin (Waste & Recycle Manager, Physical Plant) presented Smart Bins for a Smarter Campus: Improving Efficiency, Service and Sustainability, a project rethinking how waste collection is managed across campus. This poster outlines how sensor technology is used for this initiative. He also had a poster flash talk.
