June 2017 Wellness Activities

June is active transportation month.

Active Transportation Events

June 3-11: Wisconsin Bike Week. There are many bicycle-related events in Madison during Wisconsin Bike Week, including commuter stations, club rides, and a celebration party. For more information, visit the Madison Bike Week page.

June 1-30: Track your Active Transportation. Use the Active Transportation Log (Word | PDF) to keep track of how often you use active transportation modes.

June 6; 12pm: Social Bike Ride. Join your colleagues for a social bike ride on June 6, 2017 at 12 noon. Meet at the 30 N. Mills bike racks for a leisurely paced ride on local bike paths and surface streets. The rain date for this event is June 7. Check out the route.

June 8; 12pm: Fix-a-Flat Workshop. Bring your bike to the Wash Bay at the Fleet and Service Garage for a 60-minute class that will teach you how fix your own flat tires. For best results, consider bringing your own tire levers (such as these). People with presta valves should bring an adaptor, if possible. Taught by Chuck Strawser (FP&M Transportation Services).

June 20; 12pm: Social Walk. Join your colleagues for a social walk on June 20, 2017 at 12 noon. Meet in the 30 N. Mills front lobby for a leisurely stroll through the Vilas Neighborhood. The rain date for this event is June 21. Route TBD.

Note: Outdoor events such as the social bike ride and social walk will be held only if the heat index is below 90 degrees.
