This is a reminder of the proper methods for disposing of paper copies of plans and drawings that contain graphical and descriptive information about university buildings and systems.
Do not merely put paper copies of plans and drawings in the recycle bin in your office or work area. It is important that they be disposed of in a confidential manner in order to ensure the safety and security of the university and its facilities.
To ensure proper disposal of these documents, you can do one of two things:
- Place them in a nearby receptacle designated for secure shredding.
- Take them to the Plan Room (Room 456) at 30 N. Mills Street, 4th floor for disposal.
Note that this does not apply to master or original versions of these documents, which are subject to UW record retention policies for FP&M.
