Jessica Cebula, Industrial Hygiene Program Manager at FP&M Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) department received a Chief’s Award at the 35th annual UWPD Awards on April 8, 2026.
Jessica helped research ways to improve hearing protection at the range for UWPD employees. Working with Lt. Lopez, PO Grudzinski, and PO Bridges, Jessica analyzed data, spoke with officers and evaluated equipment during range days. This process allowed Jessica to recommend new improvements and equipment, proven to reduce hearing damage and increase shock absorption.
In addition to this, Jessica provided options for hearing protection in the future and recommended employees get their hearing tested. Jessica’s dedication to research and problem solving for this issue stood out, receiving a 2025 UWPD Chief’s Award.
Congratulations Jessica! Thank you for your contributions and hard work.
