Timeline for making changes to absences already submitted in Workday

icon: calendar page turning with checkbox checked and clock at upper rightThe UW-Madison Sick, Vacation, and Personal and Legal Holidays leave policies were updated to explain when employees may change the type of paid leave they have chosen for an absence.

  • Any changes to the paid leave types submitted must be completed by the end of the second pay period following the absence, or before the end of the fiscal year, whichever is sooner. See the payroll calendar.
  • However, changes to leave outside of the deadlines may be permitted if the changes are associated with a Worker’s Compensation or disability claim.

For example: an employee enters Time Off using Sick leave in Workday. Later the employee wants to change that time to Vacation. They must submit the request to do so in a timely manner.
