Following a two-year interim term and a comprehensive recruitment search, Miranda Sve has officially been appointed FP&M’s Director of Human Resources, effective September 6.
The announcement was made by Margaret Tennessen, FP&M’s Deputy Associate Vice Chancellor, who highlighted Miranda’s steady leadership, expertise, and strong track record over the last two years.
“Over the past two years, Miranda has consistently raised the bar, and under her continued leadership, I am confident our standards and support for FP&M employees will only keep rising,” Margaret said. “Her ability to guide FP&M through complex organizational changes like Workday and Link UW, while steadfastly advocating for our employees and ensuring we deliver exceptional customer service, made her the clear choice to lead the department going forward.”
With 14 years of human resources experience in higher education, Miranda brings a wide range of operational and strategic expertise to the role. Before joining FP&M in 2022 as Associate Director of HR, she served as a Workforce Relations Specialist with UW–Madison’s Office of Human Resources for more than two years. Her career also includes seven years at UW–Superior, where served in diverse roles, from HR Assistant, Payroll & Benefits Specialist, and Interim HR Manager, to Assistant to the Chancellor.
Miranda holds a bachelor’s degree in social work from UW–Superior and is currently pursuing an MBA with a concentration in leadership and change from the College of St. Scholastica.
As HR Director, Miranda guides the overarching people strategy for FP&M, supporting a diverse, multishift, and multilingual workforce across all eight division departments. She succeeds Susan Fritts, who departed FP&M in 2024. Miranda will continue partnering closely with FP&M leadership and supervisors, as well as campus partners to strengthen workforce planning, labor and employee relations, talent development, and compliance. Her work ensures FP&M’s 1,300+ employees have the tools, institutional support and welcoming environment required to keep campus running every day.
“Joining FP&M in 2022 made it clear this was where I wanted to be, but serving as Interim Director gave me a deeper understanding of our division’s unique needs,” Miranda said. “It helped me see where we can grow and how to focus our energy. Moving forward, I’m excited to build strong partnerships, support our HR team’s growth and deliver an exceptional experience for all employees and supervisors.”
