Eligible employees must complete banked leave elections in Workday by Oct. 31
Eligible employees* (employees classified as University Staff, Faculty, Academic Staff, or Limited) have an annual opportunity to bank set amounts of unused vacation or vacation carryover hours and/or elect to receive a cash payout.
Once vacation is banked, the hours do not expire.
Vacation converted to Banked Leave reduces the employee’s June 30, 2025 vacation carryover balance first, and then reduces the June 30, 2025 vacation that would become vacation carryover on July 1, 2025.
Employees can review their Vacation Available as of June 30, 2025, max conversion limit, and elect hours to bank and or if eligible, payout through their Workday Announcement tab (see screenshot).
All banking or payout requests must be submitted no later than Oct. 31, 2025.
*Crafts Workers are not eligible to bank leave.
