The experience, dedication, knowledge, and perseverance expended by Kurt Beilman and Ed Corcoran in addressing the recent chilled water piping failure, cannot be emphasized enough.
They knew what to do and saw that it was done in as timely a means as possible to keep the building shutdowns and uncomfortable situations endured by some, to as short a timeframe as reasonable.
With all our technological advantages at our disposal, there is often no substitute for good old hands-on experience. The entire campus community is in debt to Kurt and Ed for their sleepless nights spent in resolving the most serious problem to face the UW Campus in many years. Well done, Kurt and Ed.

I especially appreciated the care they took in establishing and managing a dedicated email inbox, which allowed me to confidently direct questions and concerns to the people best equipped to address them. Their regular email updates and links to helpful resources were invaluable, and building occupants responded positively to the information.
Most importantly, the team addressed specific questions and concerns with clear action plans and thoughtful mitigation efforts, helping people feel heard, acknowledged, and supported.
