Heating and Cooling Plant Operations
I would like to send a shout out to the whole operations team, but especially the shift superintendents at the Heating & Cooling plants for doing a fantastic job keeping the university buildings and hospitals heated through this latest cold snap.
Over the past two months, we have asked our team to adjust schedules (over 60 times!) and work a lot of extra hours to make sure that we staff both plants through colder weather and to deal with planned and unplanned outages from our partners; their flexibility and resilience has shone through, keeping things running smoothly through it all while still being efficient stewards of University resources.

Birge Cage Washer delivery team
HUGE thanks to everyone who helped get a new cage washer delivered to Birge Hall. The coordination between the Warehouse (Tom Erickson and Cassie Smith) truck services (Ross Berge, Sue Hamann and Brad Schenkel) and carpenter shop (Zach Hass and Aaron Agnew) made this delivery so much smoother than it could have been and I am so very grateful.

And to the Steamfitters—thank you for your diligence in resolving the issues. Your time, energy, and expertise were noticed and appreciated, especially during some of the coldest days of the year.
