Radiation Safety Team
An SMPH colleague recently recognized Jon Haas, Jordan Nofzinger, Justin Sorg, Jason Larrabee, Karisa Yang, Lisa Russell, Talmage Kegley, Jason Timm, and Emily Muzzillo for assuring that hospital staff were able to safely perform a very specialized pediatric cancer therapy:
“Thank you to you and your team for all your flexibility these last few weeks while we struggled with the timing of the MIBG shipments due to storms and other factors out of our control. Your team has gone above and beyond to make sure our patients get the best care possible. It means a lot to them and to us in peds onc.”
The Radiation Safety team provides a great deal of support to make these treatments possible.

Lauren Hawley, Allison Bua-Demus, Jon Kjarsgaard, and Tanara Teal-Tate
A couple of weeks ago, we had snow and icy conditions. We were getting reports of students and staff falling down. It was a Friday so not a lot of people were around. They did a great job getting information out on social media. It was really helpful!

A big, loud shout-out to Allison Bua-Demus and Jake Stottler for covering while I was out of the office on a trip of a lifetime. I was able to fully enjoy my time away because I knew FP&M Marketing and Communications was in such capable hands. They stepped up to keep everything running, support the division and deal with urgent issues. Also thanks to Lindsey Honeyager for jumping in to help as a newbie, too. Way to rock it, guys!

Victoria Van Wey
This recognition has been a long time coming but wanted to “shout out” to Victoria for always staying positive when answering the phones in Occupational Medicine. She has also worked her “butt” off by keeping the Outreaches (Fit Testing/TB) running smoothly behind the scenes, as this is no small task. We are so appreciative for her and what she has done for our department. Thank you Victoria!
